Placenta Earthing Vision
It has been my vision here on Our Sorelleโ-The Land of the Sistersโ to create a placental burial ground for well over a decade. Following the intuitive rhythm of my heart, I felt a strong calling to return the Placentas of each of my five children, back to the Earth; marked with the planting of a tree that flowers at the time of their birthdays.
I hold deep reverence for the Placentaโa living symbol of the sacredness of love, creation, Mothers and new life. When a placenta is returned to the earth, it becomes an energetic conduitโthe bridge that connects mother, baby and earthโ-attuning each child to the guidance and embrace of Mother Earth herself throughout their life.
During my 25 years service as a Midwife in the hospital setting my heart ached each time I would offer a woman to take her placenta home, only for her to respond with permission for me to throw it out. Quietly I would walk away pondering why? Why the disconnect?
Then it struck me; the disconnection women have with their placentas is a reflection of the broader disconnection with their bodies, birth and the Earth. But I also realised this disconnection didnโt originate with women themselves.
It became clear to me that the separation of Motherโs, babies and placentas from the Earth during birth, comes as a result of a society that lacks deep reverence and honour for mothers, life and the land we live on.
Land calls for Earth Altar
From this realisation, the voice of the land spoke to me, calling for the creation of a Matriarchal Earth Altarโ-a sacred rainforest on the land of Sorelle. This altar would be a space to activate and anchor matriarchal templates through the power of placentas, creating a living legacy dedicated to nurturing and restoring the ecosystems of healthy families and communities.
The creation of a Matriarchal Earth altar through the power of Placenta Earthing is a commitment to fostering interconnectedness, nurturing and reverence for life in all its formsโqualities that have been overshadowed by patriarchal systems of control and dominance. This vision was born to intentionally infuse the land with the values, wisdom, and energy associated with the matriarchal way of being.

Each tree of this sacred forest will become a living vessel of matriarchal wisdom, encoding and activating ancient templates rooted in balance with both masculine and feminine energies, connection, and the cyclical nature of life. These trees, planted alongside earthed placentas, will serve as a physical and energetic anchor for these values to be remembered, restored, and integrated.
